Grist Mill Farm Alpacas

Fall is traditionally when we do most of our shows, and this year will be especially busy as we are doing all of the shows we did last year, plus we have added a new one.  Here’s the listing for September.  October will be posted later in the month!

• The Laurels at Landhope - This is the premier combined driving event in the tri-state area.  The combination of driver, horse(s) and carriage is a dramatic example of skill and athleticism.  This year’s event runs from Friday, September 9 through Sunday September 11.  This year the event hosts the 2011 USEF National Four-in Hand Championship.  The 3 day event includes activities for the kids, Jack Russell races, and lots of shopping opportunities.  We, of course, will have a booth displaying our products.  For more information and directions go to www.laurelscde.org.
• Plantation Field Horse Trials- This is a brand new event for us.  It is a traditional 3-day event combining dressage, cross country and stadium jumping.  The event will be held in Unionville from Friday, September 16 to Sunday, September 18.  We will have a booth displaying our wares, AND we are bringing two of our alpacas for folks to meet!  For more information and directions go to www.plantationfieldhorsetrials.com.
• National Alpaca Farm Days at Grist Mill Farm - This annual event, held Saturday (10-4) and Sunday (11-4), September 24 & 25, is an opportunity for you to come to our farm, meet our alpacas, shop in our store, and ask all of those questions about alpacas you’ve always wondered about.  If you’re interested in breeding, starting your own alpaca farm, just want a few animals as pets or fleece animals, or just a fun time to bring the kids and see our animals, then this is the weekend for you.  We’ll have refreshments and cookies, so come on out and visit us!
